"Den Preis für den Besten Film geht an einen sehr einfühlsamen Beitrag mit herausragenden Darstellern und der unmissverständlichen Botschaft über die Kraft der Liebe. (...) Innig, aufrichtig und verletzlich, ohne dabei unangemessen fordernd oder auf Tränen spielend zu sein, schafft der Kurzfilm Empathie für beide Parteien. Mutig und spannend inszeniert. Eine Gesamtkomposition, die berührt, zum Nachdenken anregt und lange nachhallt. Ein trotz seiner schwermütigen Grundstimmung Mut machender Film, der uns lehrt, dass man mit Liebe, Zusammenhalt und einer positiven Einstellung auch schwierige Situationen im Leben meistern kann. For so many years, we have seen films which cover the subject of Breast Cancer but we rarely see films which specifically looks at the relationship a woman has with her body and sexuality and how that is affected by the diagnosis of Breast Cancer. Touch Me is an intriguing film by Eileen Byrne that focuses categorically on that, providing us with incredible insight. We spoke to Eileen about her film, asking her why it was so important for her to tell this story, how her festival run is going, how she came across the cast for her film and where her passion for film came from."

"Eileen Byrne beschäftigt sich in ihrem Kurzfilm "Was bleibt" mit dem Thema Brustkrebs. Es war ihr wichtig, auch die Seite der Krankheit zu zeigen, die man normalerweise nicht sieht. Denn der Verlust der Weiblichkeit spielt in vielen Beziehungen auch dann noch eine Rolle, wenn die Krankheit überwunden ist. Max Bretschneider spielt in den Film den Moritz, der sich in genau dieser Situation befindet und und einen Weg sucht, wie er mit der Krankheit seiner Freundin umgehen kann."

"Wir sehen eine graue Wand. Zwei Türen im Hintergrund. Ein Mensch, angekettet an einen Infusionsständer. Ein Blick zu Boden. Der Mensch, eine Frau, fällt. Sie rafft sich wieder auf. Ein Zögern vor dem Blick ins eigene Spiegelbild. Was sie jetzt noch bedeckt, lässt sie fallen. Ein Tanz im Jetzt beginnt. Kraftvoll, berührend, mutig.
Wenngleich in der jüngeren Filmgeschichte bereits thematisiert, darf die künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema auch in Zukunft nicht aufhören. Die Künstler*innen setzen sich über die Beschränkungen des Genres "Musikvideo" hinweg und schaffen einen Film, der nicht persönlicher - und essentieller - sein könnte."
